SHARE, CARE AND SMILE: VISIT TO RUMAH JAGAAN ORANG TUA AL-IKHLAS

SHARE, CARE AND SMILE:

VISIT TO RUMAH JAGAAN ORANG TUA AL-IKHLAS

"Belajar rajin-rajin hingga ke luar negara. Sayangi ibu bapa dan jangan menderhaka."
- Words that came out from one of the old folk.

On the 13th of July 2015, me, along with 6 of my friends from Kolej PERMATApintar Negara, Foundation 2, of class 2K3, have visited Rumah Jagaan Orang Tua Al-Ikhlas at Puchong.
This project was assigned by our beloved Prof. Datuk Dr. Noriah. I was assigned by Prof. to lead this project to make a follow-up at this old folks' home.

The old folk have pretty lonely and gloomy lives, people who have been left behind by their own family. We verily believe that most of them have families and have been left by them. During the holy month of Ramadan, their past memories will disturb their emotions, by remembering their sweet memories they had with their families.

We, as small children, are like grandsons and granddaughters to them. So, with our visit, it's like the scenario of grandchildren going back to their hometown to visit their grandparents.

Rumah Jagaan Orang Tua Al-Ikhlas is located at Lot 3530, Jalan Batu 18, Kampung Pulau Meranti, 47120 Puchong, Selangor. This old folk's home has been adopted by Pusat PERMATApintar under the program Permata Prihatin, which recently has been visited by our patron, Yang Berbahagia Datin Seri Paduka Rosmah Mansor, and the ASASIpintar students.

There are 50 of them, and all of them are Muslims under the supervision of Cik Muji binti Haji Sulaiman (016 678 6364).

The objectives of this activity are to:
1. care for those less fortunate than us;
2. to bring happiness and joy to peoples' lives;
3. to develop feelings of empathy and sympathy to them; and
4. to bring cheers and joy for the coming Hari Raya celebration.

We all learned of many things, but one of them stands out the most;
"Belajar rajin-rajin hingga ke luar negara. Sayangi ibu bapa dan jangan menderhaka."

We thank Prof. Datuk Dr Noriah Mohd Ishak, Pn Zaza and all students of PERMATApintar who contributed / donated to this project. Without your help, this project could not have been carried out. Once again thank you.
